The Titanic museum attraction in Branson, MO is one my husband and I have been wanting to see for quite some time and this weekend, we were finally able to fulfill our wish.

Let me just say, I loved this attraction! It was very well planned out and designed. Upon arrival you are greeted by period-costumed maids who give you a boarding pass. You assume the role of the person on the card you posses. The people on the cards are actual persons from the Titanic and you learn a bit about their story as you travel through the attraction.

You travel through the museum to various parts of the ship. Areas highlighted are the First Class and Third Class sections from the Titanic, the boiler room, and the bridge. Also showcased is the grand staircase, a beautiful replica the same size as the original.

A number of costumed cast members are posted throughout the attraction to share a new piece of the information from this fateful voyage.

There are many interactive areas that are fun for kids and those who are kids at heart. Steering the wheel, shoveling coal and touching the frigid waters were among them. They also had the steep deck inclines as they would have been at different points during the sinking of the great ship.

Another thing I really enjoyed was the audio companion. It added another dimension to the learning experience and made it even better. There were listening stations for both adults and children.

One thing I was disappointed in, was the lack of information pertaining to the living quarters and dining rooms of the workers. It showed the First Class and Third Class levels but those of second class and the crew were overlooked in my opinion. As over 300 crew members (several of which were about 14 years old) perished in the tragedy, I wish they were better represented in this memorial museum.

At the end of the tour you find out whether your passenger survived or perished. It is a powerful feeling to discover that information at the end. I'll not tell you whether or not my passenger lived or died but I will tell you I was impacted more than I expected.

The Titanic Museum was a great tribute to those who perished and those who survived this disaster, let us remember all those who suffered through this experience and be grateful each day for those we love.
